Paul Munro

b. 1959

“If you want to paint a mountain you first have to climb it”.

Not many artists had their artworks displayed and sold in art galleries while they were still in school, but not many artists are as talented as Paul Munro.

Paul was inspired and guided by his father, Gordon Munro, who helped him develop as an artist at an early age.

Paul’s love for nature is evident in his work. He often spends periods of time isolated from civilization, getting up close and personal with the landscapes he paints. Paul is an adventurer and surfer, and holds South African Colours for kickboxing and a black belt in karate.

Beautiful, detailed artworks depict mountains, rivers and beachscapes, capturing the wild beauty of South Africa in oil and acrylic. It’s no surprise that his work is sought after locally and abroad.
