Kobus Moller

b. 1949

“Texture is of utmost importance to me. When I study the great outdoors, I am overwhelmed by the over abundance and variety of the textures.”

Kobus Moller was born in Rhodesia, into an artistic family. He was conscripted into the Rhodesian army and spent months in the Zambizi valley where he was surrounded by animals. He notes that this experience made a marked impression on him.

After years working in education, he became a full time artist in 1990. He uses a layering technique to build his artworks, starting with rich texturing and then adding colours and tonal values.

Kobus has participated in a number of exhibitions both locally and internationally. He is an extraordinary wildlife artist with outstanding ability and is well known in South Africa and abroad.
