The Unavoidable Nature of Being an Artist

Isabel le Roux, born on 13 October 1943 in Rustenburg, South Africa, had a joyful childhood on a farm. Her father’s death at six months old did not hinder her.

At Rustenburg High in 1961, she excelled in art. She also graduated “cum laude” at the Pretoria College of Education in 1964.

Art has always been crucial in her life, from childhood to nurturing her talent over the years.
